We are Mathilde and Laetitia, the two clothes designers who have created LAËMA. We are both passionate about beautiful materials and the work of textile. Awarded of a diploma from l’école supérieure des arts appliqués Duperré in fashion design, we met during our studies and have worked on four hands for various projects during which we have developped our artistic complementarity and built our friendship. Mathilde know all about knitting. So was born the idea to associate knitting with leather in a range of sophisticated and trendy accessories for woman. Inspired by her journeys, Mathilde develops a series of delicate knits where she plays with colors and retro patterns, loved by both of us. All the knitting pannels used for the realization of bags are handmade in our workshop in Paris, with ancient machines that we hunted from antiques. It is this particular know-how mixed with various inspirations that confers to our work a supplement of soul. This elegant and vintage spirit gives our collections of bags their unique character. Lovers of accessories, we try to catch the particular link which binds every woman to her handbag, guardian of the small treasures of her everyday life. Totes, evening clutches or maxi bags are avalaible in a wide selection of colors and with rich and subtle patterns associated to black or cognac italian leather. The knitting is emphasized, worked in a new way on these feminine accessories allowing each to choose its style, to assert its own trend. Classic, radical or patterns in matching tones, meshes lurex or Jacquard design, a Laëma bag is adopted for every day, or picked according to the envy and to the dress of the day. Thanks to our collections of bags completely made in France and in Italy, we really want to share our love of textile and allow all kind of women to write their fashion story.
