After graduating from a school of jewellery in Paris in 2007, Maïna decides to express her creativity by creating fantasy jewellery for many brands. But after two years, she realised that she wanted to explore the French know how that lived next to her.
At only 25, (it seems that this is the age where you can do everything!) she decided to reconcile her creativity with her sense of ethics.
Then, a day of winter 2010, she finally dared and created ï.de.m, full of poetry and surprises!
High end jewellery full of fantasy, ï.de.m is part of the "recycling" and ethical jewellery movement. Maïna, the designer, works with former silverware that she transforms into surprising bracelets and rings.
Our grandmothers' cutlery was not intended to be ephemeral, it was designed to last. But, in our society in constant boiling, objects are created, few last and many are left abandoned.
The creator refuses this principle. She visits flea markets and garage sales from here and there while her accustomed eyes search, scrutinize, look for these objects that bear the passing of time, witnesses of a certain past fashion.
These small finds, sometimes orphaned, forgotten by their housekeeper, anchor their time and find a second life under the name of ï.de.m, in a universe that was not intended to be theirs.
Decided to perpetuate the knowledge of the French know how and thus defending certain ethics, the designer works exclusively in partnership with the best French workshops.
